In addition to general construction, design, and construction management, our specialties include installing and renovation of manufacturing and production equipment. We excel in stainless steel tig welding, specialty custom fabrications, equipment assembly, and maintenance.

We believe that our success results from our desire to fully understand our client’s needs by effectively fulfilling our commitments with reliable service. Our goal continues to be to expand our industrial and institutional base of clients by producing the best possible product ahead of schedule and below budget. Today, our field personnel continue to be our most valuable assets.

Our History

Lehr Construction Company was founded by J.W. Lehr, who served as President until his death in 1928. It was during this time that magnificent homes and the industrial base for St. Joseph’s next fifty years began.

1890

Arthur L. Lehr began his term as President, directing the company through the Great Depression, WWII, and a huge industrial boom.

1928

J. Wesley Lehr joined the firm in 1935 and served as President from 1944 until his retirement in 1975. The ’50s-’70s welcomed more expansion of local companies, hospitals, and new manufacturing.

1935

James E. Moore, Jr. joined the firm in 1940. His career was interrupted by WWII when he served in the infantry in France. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Moore served as Vice-President, General Manager, and Project Manager until his retirement in 2001.

1940

Jon J. Lehr was appointed as President of the corporation and he held that position until September, 2021 at which time he transitioned to Senior Project Coordinator for the corporation. During his leadership the corporation saw an exciting expansion of animal health and pharmaceutical research and production, as well as meat processing and manufacturing.

1975

Eric Uehlin was appointed as President of the corporation. Eric has worked for the corporation since 1996. He has been instrumental in expanding our client base. His abilities to run projects have resulted in a loyal and solid customer base among both commercial and industrial customers.
